Diggy Simmons

Diggy Simmons- {Shook Ones Freestyle} from philthegod. on Vimeo.

The son of Run from the great Run DMC and the nephew of the business mogul, Russel Simmon, Diggy Simmons is set to take hip hop by storm but through his own talent on the M.I.C and not just from the family name. I have high hopes for this kid.

Karma: action, seen as bringing upon oneself inevitable results, good or bad, either in this life or in a reincarnation

I haven't blogged in over a month. I wish I could say that I've been too busy to blog but the fact of the matter is I've been lazy.

Oh well. I can continue to try and do better.

Lately I have a feeling Karma is about to give me a swift kick in ass.

Prop 8 Overturned!!

Prop 8 Overturned!!! Equal rights for everyone! Nice to be out of the 1950s...

"Race restrictions on marital partners were once common in most states but are now seen as archaic, shameful or even bizarre. When the Supreme Court invalidated race restrictions in Loving, the definition of the right to marry did not change. Instead, the Court recognized that race restrictions, despite their historical prevalence, stood in stark contrast to the concepts of liberty and choice inherent in the right to marry."

Faux News

Every time Faux News does a bogus news story a baby cries.......

Donkey Kong

I used to have a huge NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) collection. I probably had close to 500+ games. A couple of years ago I got tired of the games taking up space in my apartment so I sold them for a nice little profit.

Anywho, the picture above is a t-shirt design from teefury. I started buying a great deal of their limited editon t-shirts. You should check them out sometime.

Here's to you Mario and your never ending struggle to save daisy and princess peach.

I wonder if anybody ever told Mario nice guys finish last....

Kick Ass Elmo

Kick Ass was an amazing comic in my opinion. It was definitely a fun read for me. I was slightly disappointed in the movie but very few movies are able to go from comic to movie as we saw with the horrible work they did with Alan Moore's Watchmen.

I ran across this picture while looking for cube art.

Lazy: encouraging inactivity or indolence

I've noticed that I really haven't been writing much on my blog. I've mostly just been posting interesting things I find here and there while I browse the net.

The truth of the matter is I only post those things because I'm to lazy to actually write on my blog. I post those things to give my self the illusion that I am actually blogging.

I enjoy blogging because I like to look back on blogs months later and see how I was feeling at a particular time in my life. When I just post interesting things I find on the net it's less enjoyable for me to look back on.

I need to stop being lazy and start writing more......I'm also getting rusty.....

Comic Books: NERD BLOG

If you already didn't know I have an affinity for comics. I love comics. I have been reading comic books ever since I was in elementary school. Comic books have always been a good friend to me. They taught me how to read and write.

I have often heard stories of people's parents discouraging them from reading comics growing up. My mom was the exact opposite. She loved the fact that I was reading something instead of spending hours in front of the tv and playing video games. I have fond memories growing up of my mom taking me to the comic book store to buy comics every week. I remember for my birthday my mom would give me $100 to buy as many comics as I wanted. Back then $100 could buy you quite a few comics.

As I got older and went off to college, I stopped reading for awhile. I'm not certain why I stopped. Maybe because I felt it was childish or maybe a lack of funds. Regardless of the reason, I stopped. A couple of years ago I randomly decided to walk into a comic book store in Madison, TN called Comic City Too. I started to build a rapport with the owner of the shop who had recently just purchased the business from the previous owner. He started recommending a few good books to pick up and just like that I was hooked again.

I started spending an absurd amount of money on comics every month. Even with the 20% discount I get because I'm a frequent customer. I have to streamline the books I read for a while. I'm attempting to limit myself to only 10 titles a month. Let's see how long that holds.

The BIG 10:
The Walking Dead (my personal Favorite)
Proof
GI Joe Cobra II
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corp

Because I'm a self proclaimed X-Men fanboy:
X-Men Legacy
Uncanny X-men
X-Factor
X-Force
New Mutants

The BIG TEN doesn't include the Graphic Novels that I pick up. They usually come out ever 6 months or so. These include:

Fables
Jack of Fables
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8
Scott Pilgrim
