Lazy: encouraging inactivity or indolence

I've noticed that I really haven't been writing much on my blog. I've mostly just been posting interesting things I find here and there while I browse the net.

The truth of the matter is I only post those things because I'm to lazy to actually write on my blog. I post those things to give my self the illusion that I am actually blogging.

I enjoy blogging because I like to look back on blogs months later and see how I was feeling at a particular time in my life. When I just post interesting things I find on the net it's less enjoyable for me to look back on.

I need to stop being lazy and start writing more......I'm also getting rusty.....

Comic Books: NERD BLOG

If you already didn't know I have an affinity for comics. I love comics. I have been reading comic books ever since I was in elementary school. Comic books have always been a good friend to me. They taught me how to read and write.

I have often heard stories of people's parents discouraging them from reading comics growing up. My mom was the exact opposite. She loved the fact that I was reading something instead of spending hours in front of the tv and playing video games. I have fond memories growing up of my mom taking me to the comic book store to buy comics every week. I remember for my birthday my mom would give me $100 to buy as many comics as I wanted. Back then $100 could buy you quite a few comics.

As I got older and went off to college, I stopped reading for awhile. I'm not certain why I stopped. Maybe because I felt it was childish or maybe a lack of funds. Regardless of the reason, I stopped. A couple of years ago I randomly decided to walk into a comic book store in Madison, TN called Comic City Too. I started to build a rapport with the owner of the shop who had recently just purchased the business from the previous owner. He started recommending a few good books to pick up and just like that I was hooked again.

I started spending an absurd amount of money on comics every month. Even with the 20% discount I get because I'm a frequent customer. I have to streamline the books I read for a while. I'm attempting to limit myself to only 10 titles a month. Let's see how long that holds.

The BIG 10:
The Walking Dead (my personal Favorite)
Proof
GI Joe Cobra II
Green Lantern
Green Lantern Corp

Because I'm a self proclaimed X-Men fanboy:
X-Men Legacy
Uncanny X-men
X-Factor
X-Force
New Mutants

The BIG TEN doesn't include the Graphic Novels that I pick up. They usually come out ever 6 months or so. These include:

Fables
Jack of Fables
Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 8
Scott Pilgrim

My friends and I often talk about our top 5 celebrity crushes. Here are mine in no particular order. I would also like to note that Lucy Liu used to be on my list and has been replaced by Freida Pinto. Although she had been replaced, Lucy Liu will always have a special place in my heart. Well, without further adieu....

Crayon: a stick of white or colored chalk or of colored wax used for writing or drawing

"Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you're really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I've got a few missing. It's ok though, because I've got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation... so when I meet someone who's an 8-color type... I'm like, 'hey girl, magenta!' and she's like, 'oh, you mean purple!' and she goes off on her purple thing, and I'm like, 'no - I want magenta!' " - John Mayer
